Worldwide, it is estimated that 17 million children under 18 have been orphaned by AIDS and that this number will rise to 25 million by 2015. There are 15.1 million AIDS Orphans in Sub-Saharan Africa alone. A child is orphaned by AIDS every 13 seconds. THE NEED IS GREAT!
The mission of AIDS Orphans and Street Children is to provide for children whose parents have died of AIDS-related diseases and for these children who do not have a ‘sustaining’ family.
Our vision is to bring the orphanage to the orphan through the development of local Orphan Rescue Units that will provide food, first aid/medicine, spiritual hope, camps, and education.
James 1:27: Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
The AIDS Orphans Mud Run is a fundraising event to support the ministry of AIDS Orphans and Street Children. The AIDS Orphans Mud Run exists to bring communities together to advocate for the needs of orphans in Sub-Saharan Africa.
